Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (Glastonbury 2019)

At the time, she was diagnosed with Reinke’s edema. Her vocal cord was damaged at that time and she had vocal cord surgery a few months later. Her plane almost crashed on the way to Glastonbury. Her divorce was being processed during Glastonbury. She did the song justice.

I think the third part of the saga is about memories and reminiscence. We hear more voice echoes and occasional dissonant piano chords. Around the 3:00 mark, we hear the memoriiiiies. Grey did not elect to fill in the piano chords, this is not just any other pop song.

Compared to the older version (below), 2023's is definitely darker. It is no longer about anger, anguish, and helplessness. Death (as in void/emptiness) perhaps?

100 years

I find this song telling about amidst whatsoever conflict happening in the society; people having different stances; our protagonist is trying his/her best to survive, allegedly being helped/manipulated by hands. Well, arts... are always open for multiple interpretations.

My mom has always been a strong woman. Dad passed away when I was five, she has raised me then on.
I cannot get you close enough
A hundred arms, a hundred years
You can always find me here.

I've been married for a year this day. She said she's gonna cook some chicken soup tonight. Last night, it marked the fist time she recorded 0.7 kg heavier than me, being 6" shorter. We fight quite often, I guess that's just the way we are. :D
And, Lord, don't let me break this
Let me hold it lightly
Give me arms to pray with
Instead of ones that hold too tightly

Also, I will listen to this song together with my kid.
We have no need to fight
We raise our voices and let our hearts take flight
Get higher than those planes can fly
Where the stars do not take sides

linux-related music parody

Nostalgic feeling hits me hard.
I've used linux since I was twelve-ish.

Slackware's Pat having financial issues last year.
I am running only Ubuntu boxes.

Windows10 is on my daily laptop.
Zenwalk is on my second laptop, not being used, dual-booted with Windows7.

Time often passes faster than we grow up.

We... all of us...

Skylar Grey wrote the lyrics for both the feminine (Rihanna) and masculine (Eminem) of "Love The Way You Lie".

The story revolved around a relationship painted with chaos, oblivion,  passion, and (subtle) harmony. The song would still be great without the repetitive chorus IMHO, i.e. it'd be have more points on poignance given the song features only its hooks, lines, and raps. Also, I don't think anyone in the song was lying to each other, they simply couldn't explain how they were feeling and expect what'd happen next.

Here, ppl elect Grey to sing the second part (and chorus. if that matters) better than Rihanna. Grey supposedly gave it Rihanna cause the Chris Brown thing. I guess this is what we call sisterhood, no?

Lala introduced me to these songs, The Pekalongans'd listened to this non-chalantly over the course. But now, every now and then I recall the feelings more personal and dismayed when I listen to these songs.

Sandwich finish

This year's Giro d Italia: stage 18 finish was exhilarating.

Here is the photo finish.

1-3 finish for Etixx Quick-Step (Matteo Trentin and Gianluca Brambilla) with Moreno Moser on the sandwich. Other than manly victory salute of Trentin, we can also highlight Brambilla's genuine and honest smile.

So here is how the final sprint unfolded:
  • Brambilla and Moser were cooperatively pulling on damn 20% climb away from the break,
  • Brambilla was pulling hard to the (second-to-last?) final bend with Moser trailing right behind, Trentin was like 5 seconds behind,
  • Moser opened up his sprint, Brambilla followed. Moser took over to lead the sprint,
  • Brambilla didn't really push on the sprint and pulled a bit, Moser was little bit confused as...
  • Trentin simply surged to the finish line.
Moser was pretty much like, "Damn, they got me!"
Brambilla was like "Aha, yay!"

EQS played their (Italian) cards right, unlike Spain on 2013's UCI World Elite Men RR.

映画『ちはやふる』主題歌「FLASH」(Perfume)PV

Chihayafuru's anime series is one of my favorite despite I have never read its original manga. Poetry as main theme was strong at the time of its release, I was also wathching Utakoi at that time. For quite a while I was waiting for 3rd season, then lost interest, and now we are having Chihayafuru live action adaptation.

Perfume did well for theme song, it serves you ample dose of optimism and melancholy at the same time, to the flavor of the anime.

Despite being currently in Japan, watching its premiere is still no-go for me as things may got lost in translation (my Japanese sucks, literally like a black hole). I'll just wait for D-Addicts for English subtitle and re-watch in Japanese later on.

Too bad the pronunciation is closer to "flush" rather than "flash".

online shell ftw

These guys at tutorialspoint are just great. The site has free programming courses, and free shell!
--the online bash shell also has gcc on it (too bad they won't give us network access, though :D)

Definitely worth frequent visit.

IBM 7094 Daisy Bell

It was dubbed "first computer to sing"; a bunch of guys hacked into IBM 7094 to make it sing (or make some mass-understandable beeps in this regards). It probably involved some degree of speech and music synth. The song was Daisy Bell (A Bicycle Built for Two) written in 1892 by Harry Dacre.

Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer do!
I'm half crazy,
All for the love of you!
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage
But you'll look sweet upon the seat
Of a bicycle made for two.
...
  Harry, Harry, here is my answer true
  You're half crazy if you think that that will do
  If you can't afford a carriage
  There won't be any marriage
  Cause I'll be switched if I'll get hitched
  On a bicycle built for two

I wish she's willing to be my stoker.

This guy is just great: https://soundcloud.com/ze-consciencia

This band (netcat) is wickedly sick, releasing their album (Cycles per Instruction) as Linux kernel module!

The approach is pretty simple:
#include "../netcat.h"
#define NETCAT_CPI_TRK1_LEN 624344
struct netcat_track netcat_cpi_trk1 = {
    .name = "Interrupt 0x7f",
    .len = NETCAT_CPI_TRK1_LEN,
    .data = {
         #include "trk1data.h"
    }
};

It (the C header file) is actually a wavefile , you can redirect it to media player just as normal I/O operation. Just like silly "Hello world!" kprintf from kernel demo program you used to write on Intro to *NIX Operating System lecture.

Anyway, I am quite afraid there will be path issue between this netcat and the legitimate netcat.

Onani Master Kurosawa

Onani Master Kurosawa. Just great!

The manga tells the many sides of adolescence: bullying, friendship, (first) love, and socio-sexual gratification. Kurosawa Kakeru managed to change his anti-social facade to warm-loving personality. Blah, I'm just speechless.

 Definetely, better love story than Twilight!

livetune feat. 初音ミク 『Tell Your World』

I am literally crying (re-)watching this music video.

These things I want to tell you
The things I want to reach you
may they converge together
and reach out to you

Utakoi

So why love songs are popular? Because somehow they liberate you from the burden you're carrying when you're in love.

Chouyaku Hyakuninisshu: Uta Koi is simply epic. The story tells the roundabout of Hyakunin Isshu. It portrays Japanese-flavored love in subtle but meaningful ways.

The story took place when poetry at the time was a scholarly form of liberation from Japanese oppressing political (and cultural) structure. Nevertheless, love is universal (you don't say?) so it's nice to watch despite it's heavily flavored by (rather esoteric) ancient Japanese courtesy.

Anyway, enjoy!
I pick this anime as Summer 2012 Best Anime.

pheromone on The Street Corner

It's a snippet by Yukio Yukimino. Don't you realize everyday life is sexy? :)

The Door is Open Wide

I just like it--I don't think porn would have such a nice songs in the first place (after all what's the best audio experience in porn is moaning, huh?)

It's from ebod-206 (ebody-tia).

tehee, I used sb's facebook account to upload the song to soundcloud as I don't have one

Soundcloud, anyone?

Soundcloud is just amazing, you just can listen and download almost any music you'd like.

And a little hack from me, you can always download the track: find the stream token in the page's source, such as:
http://media.soundcloud.com/stream/4zX19lYZadAV?stream_token=uFBK5

It'll redirect you to the song's file :) Else, you can use addons for your browser to download 'undownloadable' tracks.

Dubstep is just cool the first 40 hours you're listening into it, it mostly sucks afterwards.

You're screwed up if you don't think this one is awesome.

Idol Group turn Pedophile on

Just until today, I **sanely** thought idol group would just singing around wearing certain-themed (school, lolita, casual) decent clothing in their music video, and those whose photobooks including bikinis is just 'side activities'.

But it turns out that I were completely wrong: they wear slutty-looking lingerie in their music video! DAMN!

Thank God it's not female-to-female French kiss, after 'cat-to-cat' kiss and bathtub duo, what could be worse?

So who are their audiences? Pedophiles?

Anyway, if you are interested in the lyrics, you can fetch it here.
